Clariant highlights Spain's local but global role at Expoquimia 2011

Muttenz, November 14, 2011 - Under the motto "Think Global. Go Local", Clariant demonstrates the importance of Spain in its worldwide operations as it showcases latest product highlights and manufacturing support offered by its four Spanish sites at Expoquimia 2011, Booth B261 Hall P6.0.
Spain is Clariant's second largest production site in Europe. The specialty chemicals expert employs more than 650 people across its Spanish locations which encompass production, R&D, technology support, marketing and regional logistic facilities. Products produced at the plants in El Prat de Llobregat, Castellbisbal, Tarragona, and Sant Andreu are used in a wide variety of industries in Spain and around the world, including textile, paper, leather, personal care, automotive, packaging, medical and pharmaceutical.
Clariant has made Spain the home of its European Center of Production for its Business Unit Paper Specialties (El Prat), and the European Center of the Business Unit Industrial and Consumer Specialties (Tarragona).
Its 10'236m2 site at Sant Andreu has been exclusively producing masterbatches for 45 years. Masterbatches containing highly-concentrated pigments or additives ensure color diversity, important characteristics and tailor-made solutions for the packaging, consumer goods, automotive, and textile industries, and for polymer producers. Customers in Spain can take advantage of Clariant's global network of ColorWorks™ design centers to reduce development times and differentiate brands.
Clariant's focus on innovation and expertise is emphasized within the region, with Spain hosting two of Clariant's worldwide "Centers of Excellence" - at the El Prat de Llobregat plant for leather and textile printing dyes, and the Excellence Center for Global Sulphur Dyes Technology at Castellbisbal.

• Aristoflex® TAC for eye-catching, water-clear formulations: an innovative suspending agent for pearls, bubbles and particles within liquid soaps, shampoos and anti-dandruff shampoos, facial cleansers and shower gels, as well as decorative cosmetics. Pre-neutralized and easy to incorporate at any stage of the process, Aristoflex TAC builds up an exceptionally high yield force and is applicable within a wide pH range from 3 to 9.
