Wearnes Motors (HK) Ltd., one of the first companies to commercialize Renault Electric Vehicles in Asia, is hosting a ceremony of Renault Fluence Z.E. (Z.E. = zero emission) at Hong Kong Science Park on 16th March (Friday) 2012, with the attendance of the Minister for Transport of France - Mr. Thierry Mariani; Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government, Mr. Edward Yau, GBS, JP; Consul General of France in Hong Kong, Mr. Arnaud Barthélémy; as well as Schneider Electric President and CEO, Mr. Jean-Pascal Tricoire.
Renault Fluence is a 100% electric, zero emission (or Z.E.) vehicle. It is a result of many years' extensive and committed research and development. Being the flagship of EV (electric vehicle), Renault Fluence Z.E. holds a position which is centred squarely on the availability of a range of more ecologically-aware and readily affordable products and services. Renault Fluence Z.E. is a spacious and business class sedan. It seats five people comfortably. Thanks to its elegant lines, distinctive details, a number of blue-tinted details, from the lights and fog light surrounds, to the front and rear Renault logos and the Fluence badge, Renault Fluence Z.E. is instantly recognizable. With no gear shifts and instant acceleration, it redefines driving pleasure.
Renault unveiled four electric concept cars at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show with a promise to make them widely available to motorists starting in 2012. Since then, Renault has publicised each milestone in this ambitious and unique project, securing the backing of governments, signing partnership agreements and testing battery safety.
Renault engines stand out as examples as far as their CO2 emissions are concerned, using oil as a source of energy will always result in the emission of CO2. Electric vehicles are consequently the only real clean-break solution, since they do not emit any CO2 during their use on the road. Besides, Fluence Z.E. also signals the disappearance of exhaust fumes, with no unpleasant smells and no more smoke. It represents clean and quiet, and will radically change the quality of life in built-up areas.
Renault Fluence Z.E. is the first affordable, all-electric, full-sized saloon, and completes Renault's offer in this segment with a version that doesn't produce any emissions during its use on the road. It features elegant lines, a comfortable interior and a raft of useful technologies. This model is the first of the Renault Z.E. range to reach the market.
