Ultramarine specialist focuses on its core range
Holliday Pigments is focussing on its core grades at Chinaplas 2012, which have been established as the industry standard across the Asia Pacific region.
Ultramarine blue is one of the world's most tried and trusted pigments for premium applications in plastics. In over 125 years of manufacturing ultramarine blue, Holliday Pigments has pioneered many of the market leading grades available today. The company will be returning to Chinaplas to showcase its industry leading knowledge and expertise.
"Our industry standard grades provide a broad range of colour possibilities, including; high tinting strength ultramarine blue 05, red shade blue 08, green shade blue 02, acid resistant grade 54, and ultramarine violet 11.
"Our pigments meet the purity requirements throughout the world for many sensitive colouring applications including food contact plastics and toys. Synthetic Ultramarine is non-toxic and inherently safe for these types of sensitive applications," said Holliday Pigments', Global Product Manager - Plastics, Matthew Nicholson.
"We have also developed the highly regarded Premier BC range; these ultramarines are proven to impart no taste or odour during the production process. The technology is growing rapidly in popularity in China, Japan and South East Asia, where customers are realising the benefits of working with the very best raw materials for more demanding end uses."
Holliday Pigments are certified to the ISO9001 (Quality), ISO14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS18001 (Occupational Health & Safety) management systems ensuring the same high standards of performance are achieved across all aspects of our operations.
"We specialise in proven high quality products, made to exacting standards in an environmentally responsible way," added Matthew.
Holliday Pigments is well versed in the science of plastics applications for pigments. The manufacturer maintains that consistent colour and dispersion properties are essential. The Ultramarine pigment must be low in unreacted sulphur so that odours are not released when it is heated to plastics processing temperatures and it must not contain excessively high moisture. For sensitive applications where regulatory approval is required, it must also have a low trace metal content. These properties are less important in some other applications in which Ultramarine is used. It is normal for Ultramarine manufacturers to recommend a specific range of grades for use in colouring plastics in which these properties have been optimised.
